CASHMERE CARE

Gran Sasso recommends some simple steps mentioned below for washing cashmere garments.

Pilling, small irregular dots of fibers that are formed as a result of rubbing or friction are not a sign of poor quality of cashmere but a natural consequence of its use. Our advice is to avoid wearing these types of yarns for several consecutive days.

The signs of use can be contained thanks to a particular care so you must pay attention to all the phases of use of our cashmere item, from washing to drying.

For washing use a basin of warm water with some detergent diluted inside for delicate wool, a neutral detergent, or a few drops of baby shampoo.

Place only one item in the basin at a time. Garment must be completely immersed, in reverse, in such a way as to best absorb as much water as possible.

Why is it important that the garment absorbs as much water as possible? Cashmere is a living fiber and loves water, with every wash done correctly it is renewed and acquires beauty. Massage the shirt, pressing it gently.

Avoid twisting and ironing because these ways felt it.

Warning: to avoid dispersing the color the soaking of the item should not last for more than five minutes.

After washing, to dry the cashmere sweater, take a towel and spread the garment over it and gently roll it up on itself to remove excess water.

Spread the garment on a flat and horizontal surface away from heat sources or sunlight.

If the washing had taken place with a good execution of the steps, ironing may not be necessary.

For ironing, keep the garment inside out and use low temperatures to avoid damaging fibers. The iron must not be placed on the head. Give heat strokes at five centimeters from the garment or place a cotton cloth between the shirt and the iron.

Let the garment cool before folding it.

At the end of the season, cashmere garments must be, after being washed, stored in dry places in special bags and stored in a cool place. The bags - housing should be placed in drawers or cabinets with adequate fireproof protection.
