My Undercover Boss experience!

Hello everybody, my name is Antonella and I work for Maglificio Gran Sasso. You are going to read the first of 5 articles I wrote for the corporate blog, a prize I won during “Undercover Boss”. During the broadcast, one of the owners of the company, Guido Di Stefano, got to know my history and my dream to become a journalist. That’s why he appointed me to explain the highlights of the quality of Gran Sasso products: the long manufacturing history and the continuous research for the most precious raw materials. I have been working for the Maglificio for more than 10 years and I am enthusiastic to tell you about my work and about the true meaning of the concept of “high craftsmanship Made in Italy”. But one step at a time, I will start from the beginning.

When they selected me to take part in the reality about the world of work (as they previously made me believe) they told me that the program had the aim to talk about the new heroes: common people that wake up every morning and, despite the burden on them, they go on with their best smile dealing with their work and their routine with dedication, devotion and enthusiasm. I really appreciated this message of hope and positivity, a little bit unusual in this moment of crisis and uncertainty that we are experiencing and that makes us become more cynical and disappointed. For me this experience has been the proof that some positive realities in which we can believe, still exist. Also, trustworthy companies still exist, companies where the employees are respected and appreciated, where everyone feels like being part of a big family.

Undercover Boss” has been an unforgettable experience that made me feel so many positive emotions. Feeling appreciated as a worker and as a woman has been a boost of optimism that still gives me the strength to face with determination the daily difficulties. I was pleased to discover that my employers are not a detached entity, but people full of humanity and they understand our difficulties. Every day they cooperate with us to realize all together this dream of Made in Italy.

The balance of this experience is wholly positive, of course! I have learned that we should never give up but always accept new challenges, enriching oneself both on a human as well as on a social level. I hope my experience transmits a little bit of positivity in the vision of the present and future life, giving you the necessary courage and determination to face the everyday challenges!

Life has to be faced with, not suffered!

Antonella
