There are partnerships that arise from a simple aesthetic affinity and others that, over time, become a true shared journey, based on common vision, sensibility and values. The partnership between Maglificio Gran Sasso and GUJI undoubtedly belongs to the latter category: a solid and authentic bond, lasting for more than a decade, that began in 2014 through to the collaboration with distributor SDI Japan and has continued to grow ever since. The basis of this relationship, now as then, is trust, shared respect and a common passion for the excellence of Italian knitwear, which GUJI has demonstrated to understand and value with rare sensibility.
According to GUJI – one of Japan's best-known brands, renowned and appreciated in its homeland for the almost ritualistic attention with which it reinterprets contemporary elegance – Italian style has always been an essential benchmark. It is therefore natural that among the brands capable of embodying their ideals, they have chosen to count Maglificio Gran Sasso, recognising not only the quality and beauty of its collections, but also the consistency, vision and authenticity of the company's business model. These are values that have distinguished our philosophy since our foundation and continue to guide every phase of our work.
After years of partnership, GUJI, represented by General Manager PR Atsuhiro Iwasa and Head Buyer Takahiro Miyamoto, finally had the opportunity to visit our headquarters during a busy day filled with discussions and discoveries, which helped strengthen an increasingly solid relationship.
Walking through the production departments, observing the process that brings the garments to life, understanding the manufacturing processes and touching the precious raw materials: each step became a significant stage in a journey of discovery of our manufacturing and creative universe. An experience that allowed them to see embodied, in people, gestures and products, those values that for years they had only been able to intuit from the finished product.
The Gran Sasso knitwear factory visit is part of GUJI's project named Take a Pleasure Seriously: a six-part series in which Iwasa and Miyamoto explore the essence of Italian craftsmanship excellence, narrating the privilege of witnessing, with respect and curiosity, the silent dialogue between expert hands and precious yarns. Our own company represents a central step in this narrative journey: a moment dedicated to discovering our craftsmanship, attention to detail and the dedication we put into every single garment.
To round off the day of meetings and sharing, GUJI produced a video dedicated to Maglificio Gran Sasso, filmed by Mr Kaoru Niside, the President of the GUJI group: a story told through images of our environments, people and the stages that compose the manufacturing process. This precious and greatly appreciated content once again demonstrates the value of our collaboration and our shared desire to continue building a future together based on quality, craftsmanship and the beauty of Italian savoir-faire.
