It is from these premises that Maglificio Gran Sasso created the Accademia d'eccellenza dell'artigianalità e del rimaglio (Craft and Linking Excellence Academy).
Aimed at talents in the fashion industry and those seeking employment, this initiative provides an opportunity for the valorization and enhancement of the art of knitting, which has always distinguished Maglificio Gran Sasso and contributed to making the firm a synonym of Italian artisanal quality worldwide.

The purpose of the Academy, therefore, is to pass on the secrets and techniques of craftsmanship, in a continuous combination of tradition and technology, so that craftsmanship and "rimaglio" (linking) could earn full recognition as forms of art and Italian excellence. This gives rise to unique garments characterized by high quality, creativity and personal skills: the elements that make up authentic craftsmanship.
Our connection to tradition has its roots in the Accademia d'eccellenza dell'artigianalità e del rimaglio, located in our headquarters in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata, in the hands of new generations, in the desire to pass on our love for craftsmanship, a heritage recognized worldwide.
The training programme aimed at young students
Gran Sasso Quality School is the training programme, part of the Academy, aimed at young men and women students of the 3rd-4th-5th grades of the Comprehensive School "Primo Levi" - Industrial Technical Institute of Fashion and Design in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata. The Quality School Rimaglio course is also organized and managed directly by the internal staff of Maglificio Gran Sasso, thanks to the donation of two linking machines and the collaboration of an expert artisan as a teacher. This course is part of the ministerial project of school-work alternation, thanks to which young resources have the opportunity to study and test their skills directly within the company. The future of Made in Italy is also in the hands of the new generations, and it is Gran Sasso's task to foster generational change and support the value of high Italian craftsmanship over time.
