Maglificio Gran Sasso dal 1952
Since 1952, a story of family, passion, and Italian craftsmanship.
From the foundations of a small family business, Maglificio Gran Sasso has emerged as an iconic International label with true Made in Italy authenticity at its heart.
Driven and inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of four brothers Nello, Eraldo, Alceo and Francesco Di Stefano, the journey began back in 1952 in the small Italian village of Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata, south of the border between Marche and Abruzzo.
The vision of the Di Stefano brothers was to impart their passion for producing knitwear with elegance and quality to create an effortless, sophisticated style authority. This focus and innate belief allows the business to flourish and grow in stature. In the 1970’s, definitive success both domestically and within international markets helps to create and solidify a consistent and respected global brand identity.
In 2002 work begins on the design of the beautiful Maglificio Gran Sasso headquarters consisting of more than 36,000 square metres, with the purpose of bringing together the business across production, storage, administration, showroom and dining area. With a clear focus on the usage of space and with the quality of the working environment and wellbeing at its forefront, the building was designed to accommodate more than 400 employees as well as state-of-the-art machinery.
The turn of the Millennium proves crucial to Maglificio Gran Sasso’s development. In addition to the new factory headquarters at S. Egidio alla Vibrata, the company launches a new plant specialising in cotton loom weaving in Roseto degli Abruzzi. The building was salvaged from a furnace formally dedicated to the production of handmade bricks.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the company remained stable and continued its activity thanks to strong relationships with clients and suppliers. A complex period that confirmed Maglificio Gran Sasso’s solidity and marked the beginning of an even stronger growth phase.
Today, Maglificio Gran Sasso stands among the leading companies in the production and distribution of high-quality knitwear and casual apparel. Excellence is ensured by a production process where craftsmanship remains at the core: each garment is handmade using refined artisanal techniques, becoming a unique and distinctive piece.
